This set of four ceramic coasters, part of our World Heritage Coaster Collection, takes inspiration from Bingata, the vibrant textile-dyeing tradition of Okinawa and the former Ryukyu Kingdom. Known for its brilliant colors and intricate patterns of flowers, birds, waves, and other elements of nature, Bingata beautifully complements the Japanese idea of kachō-fūgetsu: finding beauty and meaning in the changing natural world.

Spring: Cranes & Cherry Blossoms (Ka)
Symmetrical red-crowned cranes (tsuru) spread their wings over a central pine tree, framed by dense cherry blossoms and fan-shaped needles. This design celebrates longevity, marital harmony, and the hopeful renewal of spring.

Summer: Leaping Koi & Ocean Waves (Chō)
Two vibrant gold and orange koi (nishikigoi) leap upward over a central lotus amidst intricate seigaiha ocean waves. This artwork symbolizes perseverance, ambition, and continuous waves of good fortune.

Autumn: Swallows & Maple Leaves (Fū)
Sleek Japanese swallows (tsubame) swoop around a central bamboo stalk, surrounded by cascading maple leaves (momiji) and wind streams. It represents home protection, flexibility, and harmony with life's seasonal changes.

Winter: Warblers & Full Moon (Getsu)
Twin bush warblers (uguisu) perch on flowering plum branches facing a central golden moon, encircled by delicate frost lines and snow-draped pine. This motif embodies patience, hope through dark times, and inner peace.
